Snoozy Saturdays

I can't resist taking photos of snoozing kitties! In this first one, Audace and Ruse must have heard me coming, but in the rest of them (later the same day) Grace and Ruse seem unaware of the camera in my hand.

Charlotte, please come home!

We are purring and praying that Charlotte returns home very soon. She is our cousin, in a way, and we think she needs to be home where she belongs.

Mu Shue, the hero

Because of our hero, Mu Shue, he and his two sisfurs survived their apartment fire.

And because of Mu Shue's heroic actions, we are able to celebrate Lilly Lu's Gotcha Day today with Mom Laura and Iris. What a wonderful family!

The frog hunt!

Ann at Zoolatry made this wonderful montage of Grace-Audace-Ruse photos to commemorate their frog-hunt yesterday - well, it was mainly Audace's frog hunt, but Grace and Ruse snoopervised! Thank you so much, Ann!

Audace and the frog!

Before I even woke up this morning, I was aware of a bump-bumping sound going on in another room. Uh-oh, I thought, what's Audace playing with at this time of morning? I knew it had to be him. Grace and Ruse are usually the watchers, not the doers!

It stopped, and I went back to sleep. When I got up around 6 am, I heard nothing, but at the same time, not one of these three li'l goobers was at all interested in the morning meal - and usually Ruse is almost knocking the spoon out of my hand while I put their food on a plate! But this morning ... nothing.

I finally figured it out when I came to turn on the computer. Audace was pawing at something in the corner of this room, and Ruse and Grace were watching - then I saw it - a frog or a toad, pretty good size. It was jumping, jumping, trying to get away from this cat! So I ran to the kitchen to find something to put over it (to capture it); then I ran back and it was in the hallway by then. So I put one of the dry, ceramic cat bowls over it ... and waited.

Bingo! Once the li'l critter was out of sight, all three cats were interested in breakfast!

(My pest control guy, Roy, was already scheduled to come this morning, and I had already told him that there were wasp nests being built in various places, so I'm sure dealing with a little critter like this was no big deal! And yes, Roy saved the frog. He took it out from under the bowl and put it out in the back yard where there are lots of froggy surroundings - wet dirt and mulch!)

Audace and the twine

Even with all the new toys around here - feathers, tissue paper, roller ball - Audace's favored toy is the length of twine that is now tied to the tail of a toy mouse. He's not interested in the mouse, just the twine. He chases it. He drags it. He carries it off into another room. He BEGS me to play with him and the twine every evening. What a funny boy he is!

Some birthday presents

Audace and Ruse got new tissue paper and new peacock feathers, replacing some months-old and very torn up stuff! Audace was the first to dive in and play and play.

Ruse just watched for a while, and then he finally joined in, too. There is a movie below, as well.
Grace mostly watched from her perch on high! Ever the mommy!

Happy 2nd birthday!!

Today is Audace's and Ruse's second birthday -- and of course, Marigold's and Brutus's, too!
Just check out the absolutely wonderful photos from when Deb and ML first began this blog in late May, 2006: Momma Grace & Company. These are the pictures that grabbed my heart.
At first, I was mainly looking at Grace. She's such a beauty. But it didn't take long to decide that she and her "twins" shouldn't be separated! It's been a fantastic decision.

Happy, happy day!

We are all so happy to know that Lilly Lu, Mu Shue, and Iris were found and have been reunited with their Mom Laura that we're all doing our happy play -- Grace is on her favorite scratcher, and Audace and Ruse are playing!

It's a very happy day because of all the good news!

Sunday praying and hoping

Grace, Ruse, and Audace (below) are purring and I am praying for Lilly Lu, Mu Shue, and Iris. KC has heard that here's some hope they might still be OK: "We are purring and praying for Mom Laura and for Mu Shue, Lilly Lu & Baby Iris. There was a bit of good news about the condition of Mom Laura's apartment, not nearly as bad as first reported. Plus the fact the door was open so the cats could escape. There is a thick woods behind their apartment. Please come out, Lilly Lu, Mu Shue & Iris." And more news and updates are at CatBlogosphere.

Pray for these kitties and their mom

Please purr and pray for Mu shue, Lilly Lu, and Iris, and for all the pets and beans who might be trapped in the apartment building that was on fire in Framingham, MA, and for the families and friends who must wait and watch. News will be updated at CatBlogosphere and at Missy and KC's blog.

More fun!

Audace has discovered the joys of playing with twine that is still a bit curly from being rolled up. Sometimes he and Grace even play tug-of-war with it. What a hoot!

Fun!!

Grandbean Austen came over to earn some money by helping me clean house, and in the process, he rolled up the entry area rug - which was simply an irresistible invitation to Audace and Ruse to play hide-and-seek!

Grace is trying to figure out where her boys are!

There's Audace!

And there's Ruse!!

It's a tight squeeze in there - which just makes it even more fun to play in!

Mommy love

Nothing like a little mommy-love in the afternoon sunshine to make a guy feel like a mommy's boy again!
